Tzahhia from Keystone Events contacted me about doing a shoot at Fort Worth's favorite new venue, Brik. She mentioned it was a vision she'd been excited about for a long time, and that it was a little different... but I was totally stunned when i saw the final imagine. GORGEOUS! It's definitely different and I dig it. 100 Layer Cake featured this shoot last week so I'm finally able to share it!! Visit the link to see the full shoot.
Citrus Summer Brunch
It's safe to say I am in love with everything about this shoot. I love that it uses my favorite plates, I love the colors, I love the florals, I love the concept and I LOVE the vendor team. If I went any further it would just get sappy so I'll stop and trust that you'll head over to Style Me Pretty Living to check out the feature. You may recognize some of DFW's most popular fashion bloggers, Katey McFarlan and Accessory Jane... that is, if you aren't distracted by the gorgeous colors that Silver Lining Events + Co put together or the delicious healthy food from Kara Stout.
Enchanted Winter
Way back at the beginning of this year Kaitlynn from Blue Dress White Rabbit contacted me about doing an enchanted winter themed shoot. I never direct people to my red transferware because it's an acquired taste and not one that most brides jump to, but Kaitlynn actually requested red plates so I was excited! Everyone I worked with on this shoot was new-to-me, included the venue, so it was extra fun to meet another group of talented vendors. This was the first shoot I took our newest little guy too and I have to brag; he's a pro. Not a peep. :)- A few months back (yes I've slacked over the summer with blogging) Artfully Wed published the shoot and it turned out beautifully! Jannet Blas did such a great job with the photos.. my favorite part is the model's headpiece!
I Love You a Brunch
Another fabulous shoot designed by Jen Rios. This brunch themed wedding was shot for My Wedding Magazine and you can see the full spread in their Summer issue. This was my first time visiting Mopac Event Center and I completely fell in love with the mix of rustic and industrial with a touch of feminine.
This seating area by Urban Antiquities is killer. Green couch envy!!
Who loves a good pun... um, me.
Bohemian Jewels
I'm about to show a little bias here, but this shoot is basically my favorite. That couple, those flowers, that green couch.. I could go on. I love everything about it. So it was total icing when Katie messaged me a few weeks ago to say that Green Wedding Shoes wanted to publish the shoot. Did I mentioned I looooove GWS? Heart eyes all over this. Check out the rest of the photos here.
Watercolor Gardens
This lovely pastel shoot was published on Hey Wedding Lady and Aisle Society this past week. Jen Rios Weddings called and asked if I had any plates that reminded me of watercolors and I did. One. One single plate. So we added some blush glassware to the mix and viola, I contributed! In truth, the blurry lines that give china a water colored effect aren't all that popular in older plates, unless they are very, VERY old. That's a secret term for those of us who deal in vintage and it means "very, VERY expensive." :)- Fun fact, the model in this shoot also made the beautiful marbled and gold trimmed ring dishes!
Lakeside Elopement
This dreamy elopement shoot was featured on Joy Wed a few weeks ago and I'm just now getting to blog about it. I almost, ok totally feel like I cheated on this one because all I did was pick the china. I was not part of the crew that woke up crazy early, drove a crazy distance, and braved nature to accomplish this gorgeous look. Can you believe those trees and that water?? LOVE.
Moody Blues
Yet another time when I had absolutely nothing to do with an idea, but wow do I feel lucky to have been a part of it. This photo is currently my favorite combination of colors and inspired me to expand my collection of blue china which was almost non existent until Jen Rios contacted me about using plates for this shoot. If you've picked up a copy of My Wedding Magazine lately, you'll see this gorgeous photo featured on the back page.
Blushing Romance
This shoot features another pattern that went under appreciated by me for a long time. There's something about looking at a photograph of an object that allows you to appreciate all of those small details you never noticed before. I love the delicate edges of this plate, the touches of gold and the soft pinks. This shoot is simple, full of light, beauty and happiness and I can't get enough of it! View more photos, and the gorgeous couple, here on 7 Centerpieces.
Vibrant in Green
I was a little hesitant to pair these patterns together, but I love the way everything turned out. The bold plate colors complement the other bold elements of this shoot. I love love love the bouquet and the succulents used on the table, especially since it can get a little hot in Texas. Check out the rest of this shoot on 7 Centerpieces.
Anthropologie Meets Desert
Sometimes a styled shoot goes off without a hitch, and sometimes you find yourself being escorted off the premises and hiking through a field with a chair slung over your back. That was this shoot. It didn't go quite the way we expected, but we shared a lot of laughs and had a great time. It was all worth it for that gorgeous sunset...and the extra cupcakes that Jar Cakery brought along in case of emergency. I'm so happy Burnett's Boards chose to feature this shoot because we definitely put the muscle into it.
The Big Fake Wedding
Last month PLP once again took part in The Big Fake Wedding. If you're never heard of it, it's basically a bridal show, done as an actual wedding. You play a guest, and witness an actual married couple renew their vows. Their attendants are their real friends and family, but everyone involved is a wedding vendor of some kind. It's super fun and personally, WAY more interesting than walking around the Will Rogers Exhibit Hall carrying a cheap reusable tote with your eyes glazed over. At The Big Fake Wedding the only reason your eyes should be glazed over is because you danced your pants off and had one too many glasses of champs.
This year's BFW was hosted by Marie Gabrielle, which is my absolute favorite hidden gem of Dallas. It's like a secret garden right in the middle of the city and it's amazing. The food was fabulous, the music was on point and we had a ton of fun. Today the event was featured on Ruffled, so be sure to head over and see the photos.
Oh look.. it's Mr. PLP and my BFB. I make Mr. PLP wear a bow tie to anything that could even remotely turn into a dance party. If I see him ride the pony or put a tie around his head one more time, so help me y'all. The bow tie is safer.
Emerald City
Can I tell you how much I love the Jar Cakery girls? I love them because they bring me treats, but I love them even more for asking me to be a part of this beyond fab shoot at The White Sparrow. You'll see images from this shoot all over my site because I'm just that obsessed with how it turned out. You must go to Inspired By This and see more. Like right now.
Natural Bohemian
When Ashley and Evelyn, from Wildflower Weddings and Events, came to pick out plates for their shoot I was so happy when they chose a few patterns that don't often get showcased. They really took the time to search and it was fun to go through the stacks with them. I love the simplicity of this table setting for two, and those fab blue coupes... not mine! Those belonged to Evelyn's grandmother and I am oh so jealous of them. I love Smitten Magazine so seeing this shoot on their blog was a sweet surprise.
Tuscan Inspiration
You know when you have absolutely nothing to do with an idea but it turns out beyond fabulous and you get to take some credit? Yeah, that's this shoot. Query Events contacted PLP about providing the plates for this Tuscan inspired setting and I was so excited when she chose our new pink plates. The color combinations are amazing and I cannot get over those florals. Check out Burnett's Boards for the full feature.
Mad over Marsala
I love the rich colors from this styled shoot by Silver Lining Events. Pulling pieces for a specific color palette can be a challenge, but it's a challenge I love to take on. This shoot was fun because working with The Bevy girls is always a good time, and it didn't hurt that we enjoyed the blushing berry champagne drinks after all the hard work was done. Head over to Bridal Musing to see more of the rich marsala inspired shoot.
A Love This Deep
Let's take it way back to last Spring. I loved this shoot because firstly, someone brought doughnuts and I was pregnant, but secondly, because it was the first shoot that used some of my neutral plates. These plates had really gone under appreciated by me until this shoot, and now they are in my group of favorites. I love the simple beauty of the scalloped edges. This shoot was featured on Wedding Chicks, so go check out Courtnee Murphy's beautiful photographs and some of my favorite vendors.
